About this opportunity
The School District of St. Lucie County, Florida, is seeking qualified firms to provide Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Services through a Request for Proposal (RFP) #26-08, covering district-wide interior and perimeter pest control for a minimum of 41 schools, 411 buses, 147 portable classrooms, and various district facilities. The comprehensive services include monthly inspections and treatments for pests such as ants, roaches, silverfish, spiders, carpet beetles, fleas, ticks, and food-infesting insects, along with three annual fire ant broadcast bait applications across approximately 688 acres of school property. Proposers must be Florida-licensed Certified Pest Control Operators with current identification cards and must provide references from at least three similar clients, preferably school districts. The evaluation criteria will allocate 35 points for approach/methodology, 25 points for experience and qualifications, and 40 points for cost. Key dates include a written questions deadline of January 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM, site inspections on January 22, 2026, and a proposal due date of February 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with proposals remaining valid for 90 days after opening.
The RFP does not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Proposers must maintain specific insurance coverage, including General Liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence, Workers' Compensation, and Automobile Liability of $1,000,000. The contract will be for an initial one-year term with three optional one-year renewals at the same terms and conditions, commencing upon Board approval. Pricing shall be submitted on the provided Proposal Quotation Form, with monthly fees for each school location, separate line items for portable/hybrid classrooms and fire ant treatments, and three bus service options (monthly, quarterly, or 6X annually). Proposers must also comply with the Jessica Lunsford Act background screening requirements. The School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, award to multiple vendors, negotiate with top-ranked firms, and request oral presentations prior to final selection. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the services and the number of facilities suggest a significant contract value.
