About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife is requesting quotes for a 2012 snowmobile order, with quotes closing October 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value to the State, considering product quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. A tie-bid preference applies to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.
The scope comprises four Bombardier snowmobile models — the 2012 Ski-Doo Skandic WT, Tundra Sport, Renegade Sport, and Expedition Sport — each equipped with specified engine configurations (Rotax ACE 600 4-stroke or Rotax 550F engines depending on model). The order includes standardized accessories for each unit: blue LED dash and deck light assemblies (single weatherproof lighthead with flasher assembly, 12 VDC, 0.5 amps maximum draw, solid blue LEDs, five-year lighthead warranty and two-year flasher warranty), OEM Bombardier factory covers, an extra Bombardier factory belt, two mirrors, hitch studs or screws, and one gallon of Bombardier Mineral Injection Oil. The specification document does not state quantities for each snowmobile model or total order size.
Pricing submissions must include separate unit prices for each item, delivered to destination with all trade and quantity discounts included. Cash discounts for payments of 20 days or more will be considered in determining the low bidder. All transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, shall be prepaid and borne by the contractor. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes; quotes should exclude these taxes. The State reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities and technicalities, and increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10%. Contractors must furnish items exactly as specified and comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including the Maine Chemical Substance Identification Law requiring material safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals.
