About this opportunity
Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) is requesting bids for indoor air quality services at various school locations under IFB DBS27-003, with bids due August 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST and a 15% Minority Business Enterprise goal for county-funded portions of the contract.
The scope covers industrial hygiene investigations, analytical testing, HVAC system evaluations, remediation project management, and specialized assessments of building ventilation systems, carbon dioxide concentrations, temperature, relative humidity, and moisture levels across PGCPS's 208 schools serving approximately 131,657 students. The contractor must schedule work within three days of contact, operate during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) with flexibility for after-hours assignments, and submit all test results and reports within ten working days of inspection completion.
Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of ten years of experience providing indoor air quality diagnostic services in non-industrial settings and hold certification from the American Council for Accredited Certification and/or American Industrial Hygiene Association. Laboratories must be accredited by NIST and NVLAP. Vendors must provide financial stability documentation, proof of insurance including $1,000,000 cyber liability coverage, and performance bonds for projects over $100,000.
The initial contract term is three years with two optional one-year renewal periods at prices established at award. PGCPS reserves the right to award to a single vendor or multiple vendors and may extend contract terms to other Maryland state agencies and local government entities under cooperative purchasing provisions. All pricing must be fixed-price with no escalation clauses unless specifically approved, submitted via eMaryland Marketplace Advantage, and exclude Maryland Sales Tax and Federal Excise Tax. Liquidated damages apply for non-performance, including $250 per missed collection incident and $1,000 per day for late reporting. Questions are due July 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Contract award is anticipated in September 2026. Addendum No. 1 was posted on July 21, 2026.
