About this opportunity
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is requesting sealed bids for invasive iguana removal services in the Florida Keys under ITB FWC 26.27-01, with bids due August 7, 2026 at 3:30 PM ET and anticipated award on August 12, 2026. Vendors must be registered in MyFloridaMarketPlace and SunBiz prior to bid opening.
The scope covers removal of Green Iguanas and Spiny-Tailed Iguanas from 13 selected sites (five routine Wildlife and Environmental Areas and eight Florida State Parks in Monroe County, with three alternative WEA sites available for substitution) on a minimum twice-monthly basis. Capture methods include hand capture, catch poles, live trapping, and air guns where approved. The contractor must collect morphometric data on all captured animals, humanely kill them using approved methods, and dispose of carcasses. Monthly deliverables include Excel spreadsheets with capture data, morphometric measurements, GPS track logs, and photographs of each animal. The contractor must possess a minimum of three years' documented experience in wildlife trapping and humanely killing nuisance or invasive wildlife, three years' experience with GPS data collection and management, and three years' experience in data recording and technical reporting. No wildlife or animal cruelty violations are permitted. Three professional references for similar projects completed within the past three years are required.
The initial contract term runs one year from purchase order issuance through August 31, 2027, with a potential one-year renewal option at the Commission's discretion. Contractors must submit pricing on a per-removal-day basis for one survey team, with separate pricing for the initial term and renewal year; evaluation will consider total contract cost including renewal costs. All equipment, transportation, and materials are the contractor's responsibility, including GPS units, live traps, captive bolt guns, watercraft, and specialized tools. The contractor must maintain General Liability and Worker's Compensation Insurance and comply with all permitting requirements; a no-cost Wildlife Trapping Permit will be required after December 31, 2026. Monthly invoices are due five business days after each service period closes, with payment processed under Florida's prompt payment requirements.
