About this opportunity
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 07A6176 for On-Call, Multiple Provider Termite and Pest Control Services targeting Caltrans-owned properties in Los Angeles County, including jurisdictions such as Los Angeles City, Ventura County, East Los Angeles CDP, and Lake Los Angeles CDP. The procurement seeks up to two contractors to provide comprehensive pest and termite control services, with required deliverables including termite inspections, fumigation, heat treatments, spray treatments, pest removal, rodent proofing, and minor structural repairs. Contractors must provide all necessary labor, equipment, expertise, tools, materials, and supplies to perform services on both residential and commercial properties. The bid submission deadline is June 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with a proposed contract award date of July 11, 2025. The contract period will run from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2028, and will require contractors to have specific licenses from the California Department of Consumer Affairs Structural Pest Control Board and registration with the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner.
The solicitation includes a 25% Small Business (SB) participation goal, encouraging certified Small Businesses, Micro Businesses, or contractors willing to subcontract 25% of their work to such businesses. While Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation is not mandatory, it is encouraged, with potential incentives of up to 5% for verified participation. The contract will be awarded to the two lowest responsive and responsible bidders meeting all specifications, with a comprehensive bid proposal containing 37 line items covering various pest control services and estimated quantities for different property sizes and treatment types. Bidders must demonstrate the ability to provide services such as pesticide spraying, orange oil treatments, termite inspection reports, HEPA vacuuming, deodorizing, insect spraying, rodent proofing, and minor pest damage repair. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the multi-year, multi-provider contract structure suggests a significant potential contract value across the selected providers.
