About this opportunity
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is seeking a contractor to conduct daily flights at the Bakersfield Meadows Field Airfield and record air temperature readings at 500-foot intervals from the surface to 5,000 feet above ground, as well as collect ozone data up to 7,500 feet above ground. This work is required seven days per week, except for March through May when it is only required five days per week. The contract term is 24 months starting on October 1, 2024, and CARB's budget for the project is $119,000. Bids exceeding this amount may be deemed non-responsive. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting the requirements outlined in the Invitation for Bid (IFB), which include specific minimum qualifications for the airplane pilots.
No set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond were provided. The IFB does not specify any incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor does it mention any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The IFB was initially issued but later cancelled due to a lack of proposals received, and CARB may reissue it at a later date.
