About this opportunity

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is soliciting bids through Invitation for Bid (IFB) 9CA07350 for comprehensive medical examination services across multiple California jurisdictions. The contract will provide mobile and clinic-based medical examinations for CAL FIRE employees, including Respiratory Protection Program (RPP), Pre-Employment Medical (PEM), Department of Transportation (DOT), Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) evaluations. Contractors must deliver on-site mobile medical team examinations and maintain physical medical clinics capable of conducting various medical assessments. The contract term spans from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2028, with potential two-year extension options. Bid responses are due on April 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with a public bid opening scheduled for April 30, 2025, at 2:15 p.m. Successful bidders must provide mobile medical vans, maintain medical clinics, conduct comprehensive medical examinations, and ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and medical regulations.

While the contract does not mandate a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation goal, CAL FIRE strongly encourages DVBE participation and will apply a DVBE incentive program. The procurement includes a robust 25% Small Business (SB) participation goal, welcoming certified Small Businesses, Micro Businesses, and contractors willing to subcontract 25% of their net bid price to certified small or micro businesses. The total contract amount will be determined upon award, with the contractor responsible for all associated costs including personnel, equipment, travel, and insurance. The solicitation covers an extensive list of California jurisdictions, ranging from counties like Amador, Butte, and Calaveras to specific cities and census-designated places, indicating a broad geographic scope for medical examination services. Contractors must demonstrate comprehensive medical examination capabilities, compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations, and the ability to provide flexible, high-quality medical assessment services across diverse California locations.
