About this opportunity
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has issued Invitation for Bid (IFB) #2CA07200 for Hazardous Waste Removal and Disposal services across multiple locations in Lassen and Modoc Counties. The procurement covers comprehensive waste removal and disposal services at four specific CAL FIRE facilities: LMU HQ Mobile Equipment, Antelope Conservation Camp, Intermountain Conservation Camp, and Devil's Garden Fire Center. Required services include removing non-RCRA waste such as liquid waste (oil, hydraulic, and transmission fluids), waste coolant, anti-freeze, paint, used oil and fuel filters, oil absorbents, waste solvents, and parts/brake cleaning solutions. The contract will run from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2028, with services to be performed no less than every 90 days or upon service call, maintaining a mandatory 72-hour response time. Bidders must provide current hazardous waste transportation licenses, motor carrier permits, and other necessary certifications. The bid submission deadline is May 14, 2025, with pricing determined through specific unit price tables for each waste type and location.
The solicitation includes a 25% Small Business participation goal and offers a potential 5% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) incentive, though no mandatory DVBE participation is required. Contractors must demonstrate compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including provisions for organic waste recycling and health and safety standards. Additional bidder requirements include tax delinquency checks, economic sanctions compliance, and various certifications. While a specific contract value is not explicitly stated, the total award will be calculated based on the unit prices submitted for each waste type and location. The procurement allows for potential service quantity and frequency adjustments based on CAL FIRE's operational needs. Organizations interested in bidding must have robust capabilities in hazardous waste management, transportation, and disposal, with proven expertise in handling various types of industrial and automotive waste materials across multiple conservation and administrative facilities.
