About this opportunity
The California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) - Napa has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) 24-41032-000 for comprehensive dental equipment maintenance and repair services. The procurement seeks a contractor to provide preventative maintenance, certification, and repair programs for dental equipment across DSH facilities, encompassing tasks such as calibration, lubrication, alignment, part replacement, and early detection of potential equipment failures. Contractors must comply with multiple regulatory standards, including Titles 8, 19, 22, and 24 of the California Code of Regulations, NFPA 99, Cal/OSHA, Joint Commission standards, and National Electrical Code. Key deliverables include emergency repairs, routine maintenance, and ensuring equipment safety and operational integrity. Bid submission is due by February 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with a public bid opening on February 7, 2025. Prospective bidders must submit questions by January 20, 2025, with DSH providing responses by January 23, 2025. The contract term is scheduled from March 15, 2025, through September 30, 2026.
The solicitation includes specific qualifications for bidders, with a mandatory requirement of at least 5 years of experience working with Adec Dental Units and Air Techniques dental air compressors and vacuum units. Contractors must provide proof of technician training and certifications. Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) preferences are available, potentially providing competitive advantages for qualifying firms. Insurance requirements are comprehensive, including Commercial General Liability ($1M per occurrence, $2M aggregate), Professional Liability ($1M per claim, $2M aggregate), and Workers' Compensation coverage. The bid pricing structure involves an hourly rate for repairs and maintenance multiplied by an estimated 100 hours, plus a $60,000 allowance for miscellaneous parts. Parts exceeding $500 require prior written DSH approval. While a specific total contract value is not explicitly stated, the combination of hourly rates and parts allowance suggests a potential contract value around $100,000, with flexibility for additional work based on actual maintenance and repair needs.
