About this opportunity

The California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is seeking a contractor to provide temporary and relief optometry services to assist the medical staff at its state hospitals in Napa County. The contractor will be required to provide all necessary licenses, permits, insurance, and personnel to deliver on-site optometry services on an as-needed basis. The key objectives are to ensure the highest quality of medical care that meets licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. The services will be used to temporarily fill optometry vacancies when all other staffing means have been exhausted. The contract term is anticipated to be from August 14, 2024 through August 13, 2027. Bids are due by September 2, 2024, and a public bid opening will be held on September 3, 2024. The DSH makes no representation as to the minimum amount of services required under this agreement.

The IFB allows for small business preferences and disabled veteran business enterprise incentives. While the DSH intends to award to a single service provider, it reserves the right to award to up to five providers per location if fewer than five responsive and responsible bids are received. The IFB does not provide details on any incumbent vendors, current contractors, or funding sources. Similarly, no specific award values or budget ranges are disclosed.
