About this opportunity

The Pueblo West Metropolitan District is soliciting competitive bids through Invitation for Bid (IFB-2025-CP-2501) for Railroad Tie Fence Repairs along US Highway 50 West in Colorado. The procurement involves the construction and repair of approximately 65 fence sections totaling 2,400 linear feet, spanning from Purcell Boulevard to West McCulloch Boulevard. Qualified contractors must provide all labor, equipment, materials, and expertise for fence repair and installation, including three primary bid items: Fence Repair (for sections with existing ties), Fence Install (for sections with missing ties), and Railroad Ties (for replacement materials). The contractor will be responsible for comprehensive site management, including traffic control, permits, utility locates, mobile sanitary facilities, and minimal vegetation disturbance. Key deliverables include fully repaired and installed fence sections, with specific requirements for site restoration and potential reseeding of disturbed areas. The bid is due on May 20, 2025, with potential site visits and coordination with the District Project Manager to review existing materials and site conditions. Contractors must perform all necessary utility locates prior to driving rebar for fence anchors and maintain all on-site facilities in good working order.

The solicitation does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Funding for the project is limited, with fence repair and construction sections to be awarded on an alternative basis, suggesting potential phased implementation based on available budget. The contract will cover work within Pueblo County and Pueblo City jurisdictions, with access primarily from US State Highway 50 West and adjacent county roadways. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the procurement requires contractors to have significant expertise in fence repair, construction, and site management. The total project budget is not explicitly stated, but the scope suggests a moderate-sized infrastructure maintenance project. Contractors will need to demonstrate capabilities in construction, site restoration, permit management, and working within strict environmental and operational guidelines. The project's limited funding implies that the total contract value may be constrained, with potential for incremental implementation based on available resources.
