About this opportunity

Montgomery County, Maryland is soliciting bids for court reporting, stenographic, and transcription services under IFB #1197764, with proposals due November 17, 2026. Registration through BidNet Direct's Maryland Purchasing Group platform is required and free; vendors should select the "Limited" option during registration or contact BidNet Direct support at 800-835-4603 for assistance.

The scope encompasses court reporters, stenographers, and transcribers providing services to multiple County departments and agencies. Services include capturing oral and video depositions in civil court cases, administrative proceedings, administrative hearings, board interviews, and County board, committee, and commission meetings. Contractors must record proceedings via dual recording system or stenographer as required. When requested, contractors must provide transcription of depositions and other recordings in any format. Coverage must extend to all County agencies as directed.

The County has historically required as many as seven reporters on a single day for depositions, meetings, and hearings. A proceeding, for contract purposes, comprises one or more public hearings or transcription tasks of varying lengths not separated by a gap exceeding two hours; multiple tasks scheduled sequentially or concurrently at a single location constitute one proceeding, and only a single minimum appearance or per-page transcript fee applies to that proceeding. Contractors must respond to County requests for coverage as needed.

Contracts resulting from this solicitation will be awarded to vendors capable of meeting on-demand service requirements across County government. Questions deadline and anticipated award date are not specified in the source material.
