About this opportunity
The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) is soliciting bids for an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for as-needed vegetation management and minor maintenance services on 4 restoration properties across the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region. The successful bidder will be responsible for performing mechanical control, herbicide application, and dust/fire suppression on approximately 3,000 acres, accessible by both land and water, over a 3-year contract term. Mandatory qualifications include holding a Qualified Applicator Certificate or License from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. Bids are due by June 4, 2024, and the contract is expected to start in August 2024. Bidders must provide per-acre costs for the various maintenance tasks on the 4 properties outlined in the pricing sheets.
While the Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) program requirements have been waived, the IFB does outline a 5% small business preference and a 5% non-small business preference for bidders subcontracting at least 25% to certified small businesses. Additionally, all contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations, and their certified payroll records are subject to monitoring and enforcement. The IFB does not specify any incumbent vendors or provide a budget range for the contract.
