An optional pre-bid conference is scheduled for September 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at District 58 Headquarters in Chase, Louisiana.
Bidders must hold Louisiana contractor licensure under Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2150-2165 in at least one of six classifications: Highway, Street and Bridge Construction; Heavy Construction; Earthwork; Drainage and Levees; or Landscaping, Grading and Beautification. A Louisiana-licensed arborist must be present during tree removals when trees are designated to remain or as required by the engineer.
The scope includes tree and stump removal (segregated by diameter: trees under 36 inches, 36–48 inches, and over 48 inches), tree trimming, clearing and grubbing with mulching and nitrogen application, and brush cutting on state and federal routes. Estimated initial quantities are 12 trees under 36 inches, 14 trees between 36–48 inches, 8 trees over 48 inches, multiple stump removals at various diameters, 2.5 acres of clearing and grubbing, 10 tree trimmings, and 2 acres of brush cutting. All work must comply with Section 201 of the 2026 Louisiana Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges and Section 204 erosion control requirements.
The estimated cost range is $100,000 to $250,000. The initial contract term runs from issuance of the Notice to Proceed through June 30, 2027, with two optional one-year renewal periods contingent on mutual agreement. A bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid amount is required for bids exceeding $100,000. Mobilization and Temporary Signs and Barricades are paid items with unit prices tiered by work order value. Online bidder registration must be completed at least 24 hours before bid opening; paper bids are not accepted. Project engineer: Amy Giddens (318-412-3103); project manager: Trenton Mayeux (225-379-1305).
