About this opportunity
The Washington State Convention Center Public Facilities District, doing business as Seattle Convention Center, is requesting qualifications from law firms or individual practitioners to provide hospitality legal services, with submissions due July 3, 2026. Demonstrated experience representing convention centers, hotels, destination marketing organizations, and related public or quasi-public entities is required.
The minimum qualification threshold is five years of experience in hospitality law and licensure or registration to conduct business in Washington State. The scope encompasses general legal advisory services, contract review and negotiation, regulatory and compliance matters, dispute resolution and litigation support, real estate and facilities matters, and proactive risk mitigation. Optional value-added services are available.
The contract runs from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2029, with the SCC retaining the right to extend for two additional one-year terms, not to exceed five years total. Compensation will be provided on a time-and-expenses basis at rates to be negotiated; no contract amount is specified. The successful contractor must maintain professional liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per claim, commercial general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence, and workers' compensation coverage.
The SCC encourages voluntary participation by minority-owned enterprises (ten percent participation goal) and women-owned enterprises (six percent participation goal), though no preference will be applied during evaluation and no minimum participation is required. Written questions are due June 22, 2026, with responses provided by June 25. Evaluation is scheduled for July 6–9, 2026, with potential finalist interviews on July 14–15, 2026. The SCC anticipates notifying the apparent successful submitter on July 16, 2026. Submissions may be made electronically via the Bonfire platform or in hardcopy.
