About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Family and Children Services cancelled its traditional RFP process for Homestead Support Services (Event #42700-DHS0000290) effective April 17, 2018, with the original proposal due date of May 21, 2018 no longer applicable.
DFCS cancelled this solicitation alongside three related RFPs (Wrap-Around Support Services, Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment, and Early Interventions) due to a consistently high percentage of supplier disqualifications under the traditional RFP format. The State is transitioning to a streamlined application process that permits continuous submission of applications rather than narrow bidding windows and allows DFCS to work collaboratively with applicants to obtain incomplete required information.
Homestead services provide intensive, crisis-oriented, in-home counseling to stabilize families and ensure safe and healthy environments for children. The services address immediate crisis-oriented needs while applying therapeutic intervention strategies to root causes of family dysfunction. DFCS deploys Homestead services during open Family Preservation, Permanency, or Adoption cases.
The new application process will be posted on the DFCS website in early fall 2018, with one or more informational meetings to outline new procedures. Interested parties should monitor the Georgia Procurement Registry for future instructions and updates. Questions may be directed to Fernando Puerto at fernando.puerto@dhs.ga.gov.
