About this opportunity
The state and local contract opportunity is a public works project for the Hilltop Road Sewer Improvements Project (Zone 1) located in Towns County, Georgia, being procured by the City of Glennville. The procurement is for a comprehensive sanitary sewerage system rehabilitation, specifically involving the replacement of 8 sewer mains with approximately 2,665 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE sewer mains using pipe burst methodology. Key deliverables include sewer lateral replacement, manhole rehabilitation, asphalt removal and replacement, traffic control, and temporary/permanent grassing. Contractors must provide proof of a valid Georgia Utility Contractor license and employ a Utility Manager certification holder to oversee the work. Sealed bids will be received until May 28th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Glennville City Hall, with bid documents available from Parker Engineering, LLC for a non-refundable fee of $150.00 per full-size set. The project has a defined completion timeline of 120 calendar days, and bidders must submit a bid bond or certified cashier's check for no less than 10% of the base bid.
The contract opportunity does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Funding for the project will be provided through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the City of Glennville, with the owner reserving the right to reject any or all bids. While specific budget ranges are not detailed, the requirement for a bid bond suggests a substantial project value. No incumbent vendors or existing infrastructure integration requirements are explicitly stated in the procurement documents. Potential bidders must carefully review the full contract documents, which outline specific technical requirements and evaluation criteria. The procurement process emphasizes technical competence in utility contracting, as evidenced by the stringent licensing and certification requirements for contractors seeking to perform the sewer improvements project.
