About this opportunity

The Jones County Board of Commissioners is seeking sealed bids for the Highway 49 - Water System Extension Project, covering Phases 2, 3, and 4, which involves the expansion of the local water distribution infrastructure. The procurement specifically targets the construction of a comprehensive water system, including 12-inch and 2-inch water mains, gate valves, fire hydrants, water services, and related appurtenances. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 P.M. on November 18, 2025, at the Board of Commissioners office located at 166 Industrial Blvd., Gray, GA 31032. All bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Georgia and are required to include their contractor license number on the bid envelope. Bidding documents can be obtained from Ingram & Associates Consulting Engineers for $200 per hard copy or $75 per digital set, with potential bidders mandated to acquire documents directly from the engineer. The bid submission must include a 10% Bid Bond from a licensed surety company, and no bid may be withdrawn for 60 calendar days after the closing time.

The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or minority-owned businesses. Contractors must demonstrate state licensing and financial capability to perform the water system extension project. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the project will be funded through Local Funds and Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds, each covering 100% of the contract amount. The Jones County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and will select a contractor based on responsiveness, qualifications, and financial ability. The project's scope suggests a significant infrastructure investment in water system expansion, indicating potential substantial project value, though exact budgetary details are not disclosed in the available documentation.
