About this opportunity

The Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority is seeking bids for the Hickory Log Creek Intake Gate Vault Improvements Project, a critical infrastructure enhancement aimed at mitigating flood risks at the Hickory Log Creek Pumping Station. The procurement involves comprehensive upgrades to the existing intake gate vault, including raising the structure 2 feet above the 100-year base flood elevation to prevent sediment and debris infiltration. Key project deliverables include installing electric actuators with remote control on 30-inch intake slide gates, performing concrete and brick masonry construction, conducting electrical improvements, and adding new ladders, stairs, railing, security gates, and hatches. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is scheduled for February 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Canton, Georgia, with sealed bids due by 2:00 p.m. on February 21, 2025, at 1170 Atlanta Industrial Drive, Marietta. Bidders must submit a 5% bid bond or equivalent certified/cashier's check and provide documentation including Non-Collusion Affidavit, Contractor's License Certification, and various compliance certifications. The project has a completion timeline of 250 consecutive calendar days from commencement, and bidding documents are available exclusively through CIVCAST, requiring bidder registration.

While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned, bidders must demonstrate technical competence and compliance with local regulations. The project requires bidders to have appropriate licensing and the capability to perform complex infrastructure improvements. Bidding documents must be accessed through CIVCAST, indicating a digital procurement process. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds, suggesting a formal contracting framework. Questions regarding the project must be submitted via email to Daniel Smith, P.E., by February 7, 2025. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, with submitted bids remaining valid for 60 days after opening. While no specific budget range is provided in the documentation, the comprehensive nature of the project—involving structural modifications, electrical upgrades, and flood mitigation—suggests a significant capital investment for Cobb County's water infrastructure.
