About this opportunity
Fort Valley State University is soliciting statements of qualifications from hemp research collaboration suppliers via eRFQC, with submissions due August 17, 2020. This RFQc does not result in contract award but instead establishes a qualified-supplier list for a future RFP to select a single collaboration partner.
The University, designated under Georgia's Hope Act (HB 324) to conduct hemp research, seeks partners to support its research program on industrial hemp growth, processing, uses, and variety development. The program aligns with the Georgia Hemp Farming Act (HB 213) and supports the University's educational, teaching, and research mission while providing information to serve the practical needs of farmers.
Opportunity text
Fort Valley State University (hereinafter, "the State Entity") is soliciting statements of qualifications from suppliers interested in providing Hemp Research Collaboration. This electronic Request for Qualified Contractors ("eRFQC") is intended to identify one or more responsible suppliers who meet or exceed the identified requirements contained herein. This eRFQC will not result in contract award. Instead, this eRFQC will establish a list of one or more qualified suppliers who will be eligible to participate in the future RFP to establish a single Collaboration Partner. Fort Valley State University is one of the universities designated in "Georgia's Hope Act" (HB 324) to conduct research with industrial hemp. The "Georgia Hemp Farming Act" (HB 213) encourages exploration and academic research by the universities into the growth, processing, uses and development of varieties of hemp. Therefore, FVSU plans to develop its research program to provide information that can be used to support the practical needs of farmers to meet its educational, teaching and research mission.
