About this opportunity
Melbourne Airport Authority is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of a new or used heavy loader per ITB #2026-0605, with bids due June 26, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. — note that the source lists a due date of June 30, 2026 in the header but the specification document shows June 26, 2026 as the actual deadline; the June 26 date is operative.
Acceptable equipment models are the John Deere 624-P and John Deere 644-P; bidders may propose alternative models for consideration during the Q&A period, with approved alternatives published via addendum and non-approved models deemed non-responsive. Equipment age must not exceed two years and logged hours must not exceed 2,000. A minimum one-year warranty is required on sale.
Bid pricing must include all delivery costs to Melbourne Orlando International Airport, training, and compliance with specifications. Unit prices are firm and cannot be subject to price increases or market fluctuations. Place of performance is Melbourne Orlando International Airport, Melbourne, Florida.
In evaluation, the Authority considers purchase price, bidder reputation, quality, extent of meeting Authority needs, past relationship with the Authority, and total long-term cost. Tie-breaking preference flows to bidders with drug-free workplace programs, then local bidders within Melbourne's incorporated limits, then Brevard County bidders. The Authority reserves discretionary evaluation authority and may negotiate with the recommended bidder prior to award.
Questions were due June 16, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Sealed bids must be hand-delivered, express mailed, or submitted electronically via VendorLink to Melbourne Airport Authority, One Air Terminal Parkway, Suite 220, Melbourne, Florida 32901. Bidders must acknowledge all addenda and submit required forms including the Bidder Response Sheet, Bid Submission Form, Notice of ITB Exemptions/Deviations, Conflict of Interest Certificate, Public Entity Crimes Sworn Statement (notarized), Non-Collusive Affidavit, Certification of Debarment, and E-Verify Certificate. No bid bonds are required. Addendum 1 was posted June 25, 2026 and modifies original specifications; acknowledgment is mandatory for bid compliance. A Bid Tabulation and Intended Award document was posted July 7, 2026.
