About this opportunity
The State of Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Office of State Procurement Services, is requesting quotations on behalf of the Department of Corrections for one heavy-duty, diesel-powered, all-terrain 4x4 enclosed-cab forklift, with quotations due July 14, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
The forklift is intended for sawmill and log yard operations at Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston, Maine, involving movement of logs, lumber, and heavy materials in rugged outdoor conditions. The equipment must meet detailed specifications in Appendix B, including a minimum lift capacity of 10,000 pounds, specified engine, mast, ground clearance, and tire configurations, plus operational features documented through manufacturer literature and technical data sheets. Equivalent bids are permitted provided comprehensive documentation proves equivalency, subject to final determination by the Department of Corrections.
Delivery to the facility must occur as close to 30 days after receipt of order as possible, with vendors required to coordinate with Department of Corrections security at least three business days in advance. Pricing is on an FOB Destination basis with all shipping charges included; the State is exempt from federal, state, and local taxes and requests quotations exclude these. The quoted price must remain firm and binding for 180 days from bid opening. Payment terms are net 30 upon receipt of an accurate invoice referencing the State contract number and correct pricing.
Vendors may submit questions through the Q&A List tab up to 48 hours prior to the July 14 closure. The State anticipates one award but reserves the right to make multiple awards or no award. The State also reserves the right to negotiate the purchase of additional units at the awarded bid price for six months following award. Bidders must comply with facility security requirements upon delivery; nonconforming shipments are subject to inspection, rejection, and return at vendor cost.
