About this opportunity

St. Louis County is requesting bids for security fence installation at the Health Campus (Medical Examiner's Office) at 6059 N Hanley Road, St. Louis, Missouri under IFB #2289, with bids due August 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time via the County's online portal. The pre-bid meeting is August 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. on-site and is highly recommended but not mandatory.

The scope includes supply and installation of 322 linear feet of eight-foot-tall, nine-gauge galvanized chain link fencing with two 36-inch pedestrian gates, one 20-foot cantilever vehicle gate, and two fence-mounted "No Parking" signs. Work also encompasses demolition of existing fence sections, posts, and signs; vegetation trimming; and installation of new posts at 30-inch depth with 15-inch diameter concrete footings at multiple property locations (west side parking lot soil, south end parking lot soil, west side soil along existing curb, and north side existing concrete parking lot with core-drilling required).

Minimum qualifications are five years of fence construction experience, prior public sector projects of similar type and size as prime contractor, and bonding capacity for projects of this size or larger. Prevailing wage applies under Missouri Prevailing Wage Law (RSMO 107.580) per St. Louis County Annual Wage Order No. 33. All personnel must maintain OSHA 10-hour training with evidence provided before work starts. Apprenticeship program participation or affiliation with a U.S. Department of Labor registered program is required. Compliance with ADA accessibility standards is mandatory.

Performance and Payment Bonds, each equal to 100 percent of the bid amount, are required. Contract performance is 60 days from Notice to Proceed with commencement required within ten calendar days of that notice. Pricing is firm fixed price; St. Louis County is exempt from Missouri sales and use taxes, so bidders must exclude sales tax. A 5 percent Unknown Conditions Allowance applies. Liquidated damages are $150 per day for schedule failures. Bidders must submit Missouri Secretary of State registration documentation in good standing and complete Vendor Information Form and Vendor Background Information and References Form. Questions are due August 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.
