About this opportunity

The Town of Dracut, Massachusetts, through the state of Massachusetts, is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or organizations to lease approximately 15 acres of land located at 761 Mammoth Road, known as the Beaver Brook Farm, and conduct agricultural operations, specifically the harvesting of hay, for a 3-year term. The Request for Proposals (RFP) outlines the key objectives, which include maintaining proper insurance coverage, adhering to the Town's agricultural and land management guidelines, and complying with state tax laws and other certifications. Proposals will be evaluated based on the proposer's experience in farming and agricultural production, financial strength and creditworthiness, overall proposal presentation and organization, and ability to comply with the Town's goals for use of the land. Interested parties must attend a pre-submittal, on-site briefing scheduled for July 2, 2020, and submit their proposals by July 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals if deemed in the best interest of the Town.

The RFP specifies that the property cannot be used for market farming or any other produce growing due to the lack of water systems, and that no tillage will be allowed on the fields. The winning proposer will be required to pay an annual rental payment to the Town, the amount of which will be negotiated. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and no incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed. The budget or possible award value is not specified in the RFP.
