About this opportunity
Georgia State University (GSU) is seeking qualified suppliers through an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) to provide pinestraw and hardwood mulch applications for its Perimeter campuses located in Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Clarkston, Decatur, and Newton County. The procurement aims to establish an annual contract for two mulch applications per year, with the first application scheduled between July 21 and August 21. The total coverage area is approximately 750,000 square feet, with the primary objectives of enhancing aesthetic value, conserving water, reducing weeds, moderating soil temperature, increasing soil organic content, and creating habitats for beneficial organisms. The solicitation is issued pursuant to the State Purchasing Act and will involve a comprehensive evaluation process to select one or more suppliers. Responses must be submitted by December 9, 2024, with a public announcement of participating suppliers and evaluation results anticipated after the closing date. The final contract award will be subject to a protest process and will be publicly announced following the initial evaluation.
The eRFQ does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. While specific evaluation criteria are not fully detailed, the solicitation indicates a competitive selection process will be employed to identify qualified suppliers. No incumbent vendors are mentioned in the documentation. The procurement appears to be an open competition for mulching services across multiple GSU Perimeter campus locations. Although a precise budget range is not provided, the substantial coverage area of 750,000 square feet suggests a potentially significant contract value. The contract will be administered by the Department of Building Services at Georgia State University, with the procurement process overseen by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
