About this opportunity
The Capital Region Transportation Council, the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Albany area, is requesting proposals for a Greater Capital Region Household Travel Survey with proposals due September 18, 2026. The survey will collect household travel behavior data across seven counties (Albany, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren, and Washington) to inform the Transportation Council's Systematic Transportation Evaluation and Planning Model, which evaluates traffic-flow effects from development and transportation projects and supports the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, In Motion: The Plan to 2050.
The fixed budget is $1 million for consultant services. The Transportation Council will administer the contract under joint management with the Adirondack/Glens Falls Transportation Council. The survey scope includes household-level travel data collection across the seven-county region, with the results feeding directly into the Transportation Council's travel demand modeling and long-range transportation planning processes.
The proposal due date is September 18, 2026.
