About this opportunity

Georgia Southern University, located in Brooks County, Georgia, issued an electronic Request for Information (eRFI) on November 1, 2022, with a deadline for responses due February 6, 2023, seeking information regarding Grants Administration Software to streamline research administration operations. The solution must manage sponsored service proposals across the complete lifecycle, including pre-proposal questionnaires, proposal preparation, budget preparation, award notification, contract management, post-award management, compliance reporting, export control, and intellectual property tracking. Key requirements include integration with the University's internal and external websites, current systems, and single sign-on capability; data migration from the existing system while maintaining financial data continuity; ability to generate text-based documents in portable document format (PDF); and an intuitive, user-friendly interface that allows the client to retain full ownership of all data. The University seeks to address critical deficiencies in its current system, including lack of real-time data reporting, poor data extraction quality with multiple records for single proposals, undefined data tables with non-descriptive field names, system availability issues, data security concerns, and a shrinking customer base among the current vendor's client portfolio. No specific evaluation criteria were detailed in the excerpted information provided.

The eRFI does not specify set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions limiting organizational eligibility to respond. No incumbent vendors or current contractors were identified in the documentation. The University's existing system infrastructure requires that any proposed solution integrate seamlessly with current systems already in use, necessitating careful technical evaluation of compatibility and data transfer capabilities. No award values or budget ranges were disclosed in the available information, suggesting that this eRFI represents an exploratory information-gathering phase to inform future procurement decisions rather than a binding competitive solicitation with predetermined funding allocations.
