About this opportunity

Coast Community College District is requesting sealed bids for abatement, demolition, and removal of multiple buildings at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California, with bids due May 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and a mandatory pre-bid job-walk on May 5, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.

Bidders must hold a California General Contractor Class B license and be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. All identified subcontractors must also be DIR-registered. The project is subject to prevailing wage rate requirements with DIR monitoring and enforcement — a typical constraint for California public works.

The scope encompasses abatement and demolition of the 2-story Administration Building, 2-story Business Building, Load Center & Restroom Building, Building 26, and Modular Buildings, plus adjacent site hardscape and furnishings. Associated work includes multiple utility re-routings, new concrete pathways, site lighting, furniture, new trees and lawn, and upgrades to accessible parking stalls.

The Engineer's Estimate is $9.2 million. Project commencement is anticipated for June 29, 2026, with completion targeted by February 15, 2027. The site is Golden West College, 15744 Goldenwest Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92647.

Sealed bids must be submitted electronically via the PlanetBids Vendor portal. The pre-bid request for information (RFI) deadline is May 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The project is under the Division of the State Architect (DSA). Incomplete, inaccurate, or untrue bid responses will result in rejection for non-responsiveness.
