About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Health (the Department) is seeking to purchase Deeplex MYC-TB Kits from GenoScreen as a single source for tuberculosis (TB) testing at its Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL). The Deeplex Myc-TB Kit allows for the prediction of resistance to 15 anti-TB drugs, identification of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Complex (MTBC) and nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) species, genotyping and spoligotyping of MTBC strains, and provides a turnaround time of less than 48 hours. The Department has determined that the Deeplex Myc-TB Kit is highly sensitive for the detection of resistance mutations and is necessary to ensure compatibility with existing equipment and continuity of the testing process. The estimated value of the 3-year contract is $218,400.00, and the procurement is limited to the jurisdictions of Leon County and the City of Tallahassee.
The Department has determined that the commodities or contractual services are available only from a single source, GenoScreen, and will provide notice of its intended decision to enter a single-source purchase contract as required by Rule 60A-1.045, Florida Administrative Code, and section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and the Department has not identified any incumbent vendors or current contractors. The Department has also not specified any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration.
