FY11 - octo - tape cartridges

The District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) has issued a procurement opportunity for tape cartridges, solicited under contract ID 66c85f7e829eb5d869075fe4. This procurement appears to be a straightforward purchase of technological storage media, specifically tape cartridges, which are critical for data backup and archival purposes in government technology infrastructure. The solicitation was posted on February 4, 2011, with an identical due date, suggesting an expedited procurement process. While specific technical specifications are not fully detailed in the provided documentation, the contract seems focused on acquiring specialized data storage equipment for the District's technology operations. The rapid turnaround time between posting and submission indicates an urgent need for these technological components, likely to support ongoing data management and preservation requirements for the municipal government's digital systems.

No specific set-aside designations or vendor restrictions are explicitly mentioned in the provided contract opportunity details. The procurement appears to be open to standard commercial vendors capable of supplying tape cartridges that meet the District of Columbia's technological requirements. Without additional context, it is not possible to definitively state potential award values, incumbent vendors, or integration specifications. The brevity of the contract description suggests this might be a relatively small-scale procurement focused on replacing or supplementing existing data storage infrastructure. Potential respondents would need to carefully review any supplemental documentation or contact OCTO directly to obtain more comprehensive details about technical specifications, quantity requirements, and potential budgetary parameters for this tape cartridge procurement.
