About this opportunity

The Treutlen County School Food Authority in Georgia is issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of food, equipment, paper and chemical products, bread, milk and dairy products, kitchen supplies, cafeteria decor, cafeteria furniture, ice cream, and commodity processing services to support the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for fiscal year 2026-2027. The procurement encompasses thirteen categories of food products including canned and dried fruits, canned vegetables, dehydrated vegetables, frozen fruits and juices, frozen vegetables, bakery items and breakfast foods, dairy products, general support grocery items, condiments and salad bar items, spices, fresh and frozen meats, crackers and snack items, and ice cream and frozen treats, with all items subject to detailed specifications including USDA standards, IMPS requirements for meat products, whole grain requirements, low sodium specifications, and trans fat restrictions. The Treutlen County School Food Authority seeks one or more vendors to supply these items with firm and fixed pricing that includes all packing and transportation charges to the designated school delivery site, with payment to be made within thirty days of invoice receipt for properly inspected and accepted goods. The critical deadline dates are as follows: the final date for written questions is May 1, 2026; bids are due by May 27, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Treutlen County School Nutrition Office located at 7892 GA Highway 29, Soperton, Georgia 30457; bids will be opened publicly on May 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM; and contract award is expected by June 3, 2026, with the contract period running from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

All vendors must comply with the Buy American provision (7 CFR Part 210.21(d)), requiring that domestic commodities comprise over 51% of processed food products by weight or volume, and must provide evidence of liability insurance with minimum coverage limits and maintain HACCP plans with 24/7 recall accessibility. Bidders submitting bids exceeding $100,000 must complete a Lobbying Certificate and Disclosure form, while those with bids over $25,000 must certify non-debarment status. All vendors must comply with E-Verify requirements per Georgia law and are subject to standard federal and state compliance requirements including civil rights assurances, debarment and suspension verification, environmental compliance standards, and record retention obligations for a minimum of five years following final payment or audit completion. The contract may be extended for up to three months at the same bid pricing with mutual written agreement and may be renewed for up to four additional one-year terms based on vendor performance. No specific budget range or award value is provided in the documentation, and no incumbent contractors or set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are listed.
