About this opportunity
The City of Hanford, California is requesting bids for FY 26/27 Annual On-Call Concrete Repairs and Improvements at various city locations, with bids due September 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. through Bidnet Direct. This is a public works project subject to California prevailing wage requirements under Labor Code Sections 1770–1781.
The scope includes curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveway, and ADA ramp repair services performed on an on-call basis. The City will handle demolition, saw cutting, removal, clearing, traffic control, and asphalt paving; the selected contractor is responsible for grading, compaction, forming, pouring, finishing, and providing all materials and labor for concrete construction. Each bid must include a bid guaranty equal to at least 10 percent of the total bid amount in the form of cash, a certified cashier's check, or a bid bond from an admitted surety insurer.
The engineer's estimate for total work anticipated during the fiscal year is approximately $165,000, though this amount is not guaranteed and the City reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities as deemed necessary. A minimum guaranteed value of $3,000 per job will be provided based on the final unit cost of the winning bid. The contract runs from the date signed through June 30, 2026. The contractor has 10 working days to complete each repair job; failure to maintain availability or complete work within this timeframe may result in contract termination.
Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, maintain workers' compensation insurance, and carry liability insurance with minimum limits of $2,000,000 per occurrence for commercial general liability and $4,000,000 combined single limit for automobile liability. The City will provide all necessary permits, including an annual encroachment permit at no cost, and will conduct compaction testing; if testing fails due to contractor deficiency, the contractor bears retesting costs. Questions are due by 2:00 p.m. on September 16, 2026. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
