About this opportunity

The state of Florida, through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), is seeking a single source vendor to provide the Viken Detection Nighthawk BTX, a handheld imaging device used by port investigators for package inspection. The Viken Detection Nighthawk BTX is the only device on the market that can provide both Backscatter and Transmission X-ray images, which is a requirement for this procurement. The contract term is 1 year from the issuance of the original purchase order, and multiple purchase orders may be issued. Prospective vendors must provide information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodity by May 18, 2023. The estimated dollar amount for this single-source purchase is $175,000. The justification for the single-source acquisition is that the Viken Detection Nighthawk BTX is the only device that can provide the required functionality, including the ability to detect certain metals contained within a compartment or enclosure.

This is not a solicitation for bids or proposals, and interested vendors should not submit a bid or "no bid" reply. The procurement is limited to a single source due to the unique capabilities of the Viken Detection Nighthawk BTX. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and no incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed. The budget range for this procurement is $175,000.
