About this opportunity
The State of Maine's Division of Purchases is requesting bids on furnaces with an immediate need for 2 units and 8 additional units for future purchase, with quotes closing August 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time.
Furnaces must be Lo-Boy design type with an output rating of 258 MBH, oil input minimum of 2.25 GPH, and blower capacity of 2,800 CFM maximum. Vendors must demonstrate ability to provide identical Hi-Boy type units if operational needs require substitution during the contract period. Alternate bids on comparable commodities are permitted provided bidders furnish complete identification and descriptive literature.
Pricing must be submitted as separate unit prices per item, delivered to destination and inclusive of all trade or quantity discounts. All transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, shall be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Federal taxes are excluded; Maine State Sales and Use Taxes should not be included. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are considered in determining the low bidder; discount periods under 20 days will not be factored into awards.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value to the State, with consideration given to quality of goods, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. Tie bids are resolved in favor of in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. Electronic submissions are required. The Division of Purchases reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent, and waive any formality or technicality. Suppliers of hazardous chemicals must provide current material safety data sheets in accordance with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law.
