About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotations for furnaces under an RFQ with quotes due August 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time. The procurement covers an immediate need for 2 units and 8 additional units designated for future purchase.
Furnaces must be Lo-Boy design type with output rating of 258 MBH, oil input capacity of minimum 2.25 GPH, and blower capacity of 2,800 CFM maximum. Vendors must have the ability to provide an identical Hi-Boy type furnace if needed for future requirements or operational flexibility. Electronic submission of quotes is required, with unit prices submitted separately for each item and reflecting delivered pricing to destination, including all applicable discounts.
The State reserves the right to award items individually or as a group and to increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10%. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value, with consideration given to quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. Cash discounts of less than 20 days will not be considered in bid evaluation. Tie bids will be resolved in favor of in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.
Transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, shall be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Bidders should quote without Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes, from which the State is exempt. Quotes may be submitted on alternate commodities if accompanied by complete identification and descriptive literature. All hazardous chemicals must include current material safety data sheets in accordance with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law. Questions must be submitted through the designated Question and Answer portal link; inquiries submitted through any other method will not be considered valid.
