About this opportunity

Texas State University is soliciting competitive proposals for Fume Hood Certifications, Inspections and Maintenance Services for the 2024 calendar year. The University is seeking qualified vendors to provide all labor, materials, and calibrated equipment necessary to perform annual testing, inspection, and certification of fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, clean benches, clean rooms, and other related ventilation equipment located at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. A non-mandatory pre-proposal conference will be held on December 13, 2023, and proposals are due by January 8, 2024 at 12:00 pm. The University expects to award a one-year contract with four optional one-year renewal terms. Respondents must provide pricing on a fixed unit price basis for the various equipment types, as well as hourly labor rates for any repairs. The University has determined that subcontracting opportunities are probable, and respondents must submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan as part of their proposal.

The RFP indicates that the contract shall not exceed $500,000 over its term per Board of Regents requirements. The University has set a HUB subcontracting goal of 26.0% for "Other Services Contracts". No details are provided on any incumbent vendors or current contractors. The solicitation is open to all qualified vendors, and the services will be provided within the jurisdiction of Harris County, Texas.
