About this opportunity

The Oregon Department of Corrections is requesting bids on canned fruit applesauce under ITB S-29100-00017453, with bids due July 31, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. PST and clarification requests due July 17, 2026. Bidders must submit exclusively through the OregonBuys system; emailed bids will be deemed non-responsive.

ODOC applies a combined 5% preference for Oregon goods fabricated or processed entirely within Oregon and a 5% preference for bidders headquartered in Oregon, for a total possible preference of 10%.

The scope comprises an estimated 4,760 cases of canned applesauce delivered to ODOC's Central Distribution Center in Salem, Oregon, in five full truck loads of approximately 952 cases (40,000 pounds) each. The applesauce may be sweetened or unsweetened, smooth or chunky, and must meet USDA 2011 commodity specifications for canned fruit, comply with all FDA/USDA standards, be packed in their own juice, water, or light syrup, and carry a minimum one-year shelf life. Pricing must be quoted on a per-unit basis with no more than four decimal places, including all transportation, fuel surcharge, and delivery charges on an FOB destination basis, fully prepaid by the contractor.

The first delivery is scheduled within 60 days after receipt of order, with the remaining four truck loads to be delivered 45 days apart or as scheduled by ODOC warehouse staff. The historical price for this item was $21.84 per case, awarded to Robbins Sales in June 2026.

Bidders must maintain general commercial liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 for multiple claimants, and submit a Certificate of Liability Insurance within seven days of award. No protests are permitted per OAR 291-164-0120.
