About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh produce to supply correctional facility kitchens across seven locations under Documented Quote DQ 2027000106, with quotes due September 23, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. MST and a written inquiries deadline of September 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST. This is a price-driven award on a single Purchase Order for the week of September 28–30, 2026; no minimum order volume or contract value is guaranteed.
The scope covers thirty produce line items—including apples (372 boxes), bananas, oranges (258 boxes), potatoes (738 bags Russet, increased to 775 bags under Modification #1), and vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, bell peppers, and yams—delivered across twelve facility points in three tranches: Buena Vista and Arkansas Valley on September 28, Central Warehouse on September 29, and Denver Women's Correctional Facility, Denver Reception & Diagnostic Center, and Limon Correctional Facility on September 30. All produce must meet USDA standards, be date-coded, and comply with specified grade, size, and minimum shelf-life requirements (ten days for salad mix and shredded lettuce upon warehouse delivery). Delivery windows range from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by facility. Brand substitutions require prior approval; samples may be requested before award. Pricing must be all-inclusive, firm, and FOB Destination with no additional surcharges or taxes.
Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose quote is most advantageous, with price as the primary consideration alongside sample quality and lead time. Vendors failing to deliver on three occasions face three-year or indefinite disqualification from future CDOC solicitations. All bidders must be registered with BidNet Direct, provide Colorado Secretary of State good-standing proof and insurance certificates prior to purchase order execution, complete all exhibits (A–G), and comply with criminal background investigation and facility-access protocols including consent to search authorization.
