About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs under Documented Quote DQ 2027000136, with quotes due October 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and award anticipated October 29, 2026.
The scope covers U.S. Grade A eggs (brown or white), medium or large, loose pack in cases of 15 or 30 dozen, USDA inspected and stamped no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery is required during the week of November 2–6, 2026 to three locations: Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility in Crowley, Canon City Central Warehouse in Canon City, and Denver Women's Correctional Facility in Denver. Total quantity is 180 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 360 cases if bidding 15-dozen packs). Eggs must be maintained at no more than 45 degrees Fahrenheit, properly labeled with identity and origin, date coded to USDA standards, and delivered with no substitutions permitted. Rejected products return at vendor expense.
All pricing must be itemized, all-inclusive with no additional shipping charges or surcharges, and submitted on an F.O.B. Destination basis. Pricing must remain firm during the purchase order term. No guaranteed order quantities or dollar amounts are specified.
Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is most advantageous to CDOC, with price as the primary consideration and other factors including sample quality and lead time. All bidders must register with Bidnet Direct, provide proof of insurance and good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State prior to purchase order execution, and comply with CDOC Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation requirements within 30 days of award. Personnel delivering to CDOC facilities must complete a Consent to Search form and comply with facility security provisions prohibiting cell phones, weapons, tobacco, and contraband. Failure to deliver within the agreed timeframe on three separate occasions may result in disqualification from future solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
Written inquiries are due October 26, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. MST. Bidders must submit Colorado Secretary of State registration, state tax compliance certification, nutritional specifications with product brand approval (samples if requested), W-9 forms, conflict-of-interest certifications, and vendor questionnaires regarding business history and litigation.
