About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens under DQ 2027000099, with quotes due September 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and written inquiries due September 14, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The scope calls for U.S. Grade A eggs—brown or white, medium or large—in loose pack cases of 15 or 30 dozen, USDA inspected and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery is required to five CDOC facilities (Arrowhead Valley, Buena Vista, Canon City, Denver Women's, Longs Canyon, and Skyline Correctional Facilities) during the week of September 21–25, 2026, with temperature control at no more than 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The order totals 150 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 300 cases of 15-dozen if that pack size is bid). All eggs must be properly labeled to meet USDA standards; no product substitutions are accepted, and the awarded brand will be strictly enforced. Rejected products are returned at the vendor's expense. Pricing is all-inclusive and firm for the contract term on an F.O.B. Destination basis; CDOC will not pay additional shipping surcharges or taxes.
Bidders must submit itemized pricing via Exhibit D, complete all required exhibits (A–G), provide vendor information including years in business and Colorado Secretary of State registration status, and disclose any services performed outside Colorado or the United States. Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business certification documentation may be submitted if applicable. Prior to award, the awarded vendor must provide proof of Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, an insurance certificate meeting stated minimums, and completion of an Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of notification.
Price is the primary award consideration; sample quality and delivery lead time may also factor into evaluation. The Notice of Intent to Award and Purchase Order execution are both estimated for September 17, 2026, with a virtual public opening of quotes held. No renewal options are specified. CDOC may discretionally allow annual price increases not to exceed 2.5% per fiscal year, subject to mutual agreement.
