About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply three correctional facilities under Documented Quote DQ 2027000085, with quotes due September 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and written inquiries due August 31, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST. Price is the primary evaluation criterion, with sample quality and lead time as secondary factors.
The scope specifies U.S. Grade A brown or white eggs, medium or large, loose pack, in 15 or 30 dozen cases per case, USDA inspected and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery is required during the week of September 8–11, 2026 (no deliveries accepted September 7 due to holiday closure) to Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Denver Women's Correctional Facility, and Sterling Correctional Facility. The initial order quantity is 120 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 240 cases of 15-dozen eggs to meet the same volume), distributed across three facilities, with weekly delivery thereafter on a no-guaranteed-minimum basis. All eggs must be transported at no more than 45 degrees Fahrenheit and delivered F.O.B. Destination with all delivery fees and costs included in the quoted price. Pricing must remain firm throughout the Purchase Order term, though the CDOC reserves the right to consider annual price increases not exceeding 2.5% per fiscal year if elected.
The anticipated Purchase Order start and notice of intent to award date are both September 3, 2026. Prior to Purchase Order execution, the awarded vendor must provide proof of Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, an insurance certificate meeting CDOC requirements (including commercial general liability with minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence), and CORE registration. All contractor personnel delivering goods must complete enhanced criminal background investigations, fingerprinting, and drug testing before accessing any correctional facility. Failure to deliver on three separate occasions may result in vendor disqualification for three years or indefinitely. Submission must include the Required Vendor Information form (Exhibit B), W-9 form, Non-Conflict of Interest attestation (Exhibit F), Consent to Search Authorization (Exhibit G), and Vendor Disclosure form for any performance outside Colorado or the United States (Exhibit E). Samples may be required at the vendor's sole expense prior to bid closing.
