About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply four correctional facilities under DQ 2027000076, with quote submissions due August 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and written inquiries due August 24 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The scope covers U.S. Grade A fresh eggs, brown or white, in medium or large sizes, packaged in loose packs of 15 or 30 dozen per case, USDA inspected and stamped no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery is scheduled for the week of August 31 through September 4, 2026 to four facilities: Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility (Crowley), Buena Vista Correctional Complex (Buena Vista), Limon Correctional Facility (Limon), and Sterling Correctional Facility (Sterling). All products must arrive in appropriate transport containers at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The awarded brand will be locked at award with no substitutions permitted. All pricing must be itemized, all-inclusive with shipping costs incorporated, and remain firm throughout the purchase order term. The CDOC may elect to allow an annual price increase not to exceed 2.5% for each fiscal year if both parties agree. The order form specifies delivery of 180 cases of 30-dozen eggs across the four facilities, with individual facility allocations ranging from 0 to 60 cases.
The CDOC may award to a single bidder or multiple bidders if determined to be in the state's best interest. Price and cost are the primary evaluation considerations, though sample quality and lead time for delivery may also be evaluated. Bidders must register with BidnetDirect, complete all required exhibits (A through G), and provide proof of Colorado business registration, tax compliance certifications, and W-9 information. Prior to purchase order execution, the awarded contractor must provide proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State and an insurance certificate. All contractor personnel delivering goods must complete enhanced criminal background investigations, fingerprinting, and drug testing within 30 days of award notification. No guaranteed minimum quantities or dollar amounts are specified. Vendors failing to deliver on three separate occasions within the agreed timeframe may be deemed non-responsible and disqualified from future solicitations for up to three years or indefinitely.
