About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens, with quotes due August 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and written inquiries due August 10 at 4:00 p.m. MST under Documented Quote DQ 2027000053.
The scope requires U.S. Grade A brown or white eggs in medium or large loose pack, packaged in 15 or 30 dozen cases, USDA inspected and stamped no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery is scheduled for the week of August 17–21, 2026 to four facilities: Buena Vista Correctional Complex in Buena Vista, Central Warehouse in Canon City, Limon Correctional Facility in Limon, and Sterling Correctional Facility in Sterling. The total order is 150 thirty-dozen cases (or 300 fifteen-dozen cases if bidding alternative pack sizes). Eggs must arrive at no more than 45 degrees Fahrenheit with proper labeling indicating identity and origin. No substitutions are permitted and the awarded brand must be delivered as specified. All pricing must be itemized, all-inclusive of shipping and taxes on an F.O.B. Destination basis, and must remain firm for the purchase order term. Bidders must provide minimum three calendar days' written notice if unable to meet delivery schedules; failure to deliver on three separate occasions results in disqualification for three years or indefinitely.
Price is the primary evaluation factor. Other considerations include sample quality and lead time. Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is most advantageous to CDOC. No guaranteed order quantities or dollar amounts are specified. CDOC reserves the right to consider annual price increases not to exceed 2.5% per fiscal year if mutually agreed.
Bidders must be registered in CORE, maintain good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, and comply with Colorado Governmental Immunity Act requirements and disclosure obligations regarding services performed outside Colorado or the United States. Insurance requirements include Commercial General Liability minimum $1 million per occurrence, and certificates must be provided within 7 business days of contract effectiveness. Bidders must submit W-9, vendor information, conflict-of-interest and consent-to-search forms, and nutritional specifications for products not previously approved by CDOC.
