About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids for forest ranger ball caps with bids due June 10, 2009. The caps are black with "Forest Ranger" embroidered text on the front, based on the specification image provided.
Bidders must submit a completed Code of Conduct Affidavit by the bid opening date, affirming compliance with Maine purchasing code of conduct requirements. The affidavit requires disclosure of all plant locations where the caps are assembled, including manufacturer names and addresses, and obligates vendors to certify compliance with applicable wage, health, labor, environmental, and safety laws in their jurisdictions. Vendors must affirm adherence to prohibitions on forced labor, child labor, involuntary prison labor, and discrimination in hiring and compensation based on race, disability, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or civic affiliation. The affidavit must be faxed to Sue Garcia at 207-287-6578 prior to bid opening.
Bids must be submitted using prescribed forms through the Division of Purchases in Room 119, 9 State House Station, State Office Building, Augusta, Maine, prior to the specified opening date and time. All pricing must include unit prices with transportation charges, freight, and delivery costs prepaid by the contractor. Bidders should exclude Federal and Maine State Sales and Use taxes. Cash discounts of twenty days or more will be considered in determining the low bidder. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, and award based on best value factors including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery dates, and ultimate cost to the State. In case of tie bids, preference will be given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.
