About this opportunity
Walton County School Nutrition is requesting proposals for food safety and sanitation services on behalf of a consortium of six Georgia school districts (Commerce City, Fannin County, Jackson County, Oconee County, Social Circle City, and Walton County), with proposals due June 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EDT and written questions due June 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
The scope requires a single vendor to supply pre-packaged chemicals (hand soap, hand cream, all-purpose cleaners, degreasers, heavy-duty detergents, quaternary ammonium sanitizers, dish machine chemicals, and limescale removers), dispensing equipment, accessories (scrubbing pads, sanitizer test strips, protective equipment, reference guides), and regular technician site visits with mandatory training. A minimum of ten scheduled site visits per school year is required, spaced at least 12 school days apart, with emergency service completion within 48 hours. All technicians must maintain current ServSafe certification and wear company-provided identification. The vendor must manage par stock levels with a minimum three-day cushion of expected usage without requiring districts to place orders. Initial staff training must be completed before the first day of school by July 10, 2026, limited to groups of no more than 15 employees per session.
The contract period runs one year from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with renewal options for up to four additional years based on mutual agreement. Participating districts serve 2,200 to 12,246 average daily meals. The vendor must invoice each member district individually with monthly invoices subject to 30-day payment terms and must accept ACH/electronic payment where utilized by districts.
Evaluation weights cost at 100 points and technical criteria (regulatory documents, yes/no questions, and customer references) at 200 points. The vendor must provide certificates of liability, workers' compensation, and automobile insurance ($300,000 per occurrence bodily injury / $100,000 property damage) within 15 days of contract signing. All site technicians require current criminal background checks completed within one year prior to contract onset. Award notification is scheduled for no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 26, 2026.
