About this opportunity

The City of La Marque is requesting sealed bids for flexible base materials—crushed stone, limestone, gravel, and paving rock in various grades and sizes—with bids due September 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Office of the City Clerk.

All materials must meet TX DOT Specs Item 247 Type A 1995. The scope covers ten line items with estimated quantities of 500 tons each, including crushed stone grades, city base limestone, paving rock (grades 3 and 4), washed and unwashed gravel, and triaxle class 1 limestone. Quantities are estimates based on prior-year usage and are not binding minimums or maximums; the vendor must furnish materials as needed by the City on a variable-demand basis.

Pricing must be submitted on a per-ton unit basis for each line item, with the total bid calculated on estimated quantities. All shipping and delivery charges are the supplier's responsibility, with FOB delivery to the City of La Marque Service Center at 1500 Municipal Drive or any job site within city limits. Material delivery must commence within seventy-two hours of order placement, with deliveries occurring during business hours (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). The City qualifies for sales tax exemption under Texas law.

The contract term runs October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with one optional one-year renewal. A price revision clause permits bidders to mark items they cannot guarantee for the full contract period and provide revised pricing separately; price increases and decreases require thirty days' written notice and must not exceed actual cost revisions from the bidder's source of supply. Payment terms are net 30 days following material approval and acceptance. No pre-bid meeting or site visit is required. Bids will be publicly opened and read immediately following the deadline. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, award to separate bidders or a single bidder, and conduct independent testing at the bidder's expense if results fail to meet specifications.
