About this opportunity

The original solicitation sought competitive sealed bids for annual inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and replacement services for fire suppression systems and ancillary equipment at various DWR facilities. The contractor was to furnish all insurance, transportation, materials, supplies, parts, test equipment, labor, and technical expertise. The County intended to award to multiple contractors based on lowest responsive and responsible bid.

Bids were originally due August 10, 2023 at 2:50 p.m., with a pre-bid conference scheduled for July 10, 2023 at the F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center. Questions were due July 25, 2023 to Brittany Bryant, Purchasing Associate II.

The initial contract term ran from September 19, 2023 through March 19, 2024, with four optional one-year renewal periods. Contractors required a minimum of five years' experience and current State of Georgia Fire Suppression professional licenses for all technicians. Performance and Payment Bonds up to $150,000 were required, along with Workers' Compensation, General Liability ($1 million), Auto Liability ($500,000), and Professional Liability ($1 million) insurance. All bonds and insurance carriers required an A.M. Best rating of A-5 or higher and Georgia authorization.

Pricing was to follow the County's Bid Schedule with hourly rates for Senior Fire Suppression Technicians and Fire Suppression Technicians (normal and after-hours), plus percentage markups for repair parts and new equipment not to exceed 10% each. Bid prices were to remain firm for the initial contract term. Bids required submission in duplicate with a 5% bid bond or certified check.
