About this opportunity
The City of Sandy Springs is announcing a sole-source award intent to WestNet Inc. for the provision, delivery, installation, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, and one year of technical support for fire-station alerting equipment at Fire Stations 1 and 4, with a public challenge deadline of July 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. This is not a competitive solicitation but a sole-source posting under Georgia procurement law; the City intends to expand its existing WestNet First-In system without acquiring new software or interrupting current emergency-alerting services.
The scope encompasses Satellight units, controllers, dorm remotes with ceiling-mounted lights, master control units, audio and visual modules, appliance-control devices, telephone-interface modules, radio-isolation units, power modules with UPS, and turnout timers distributed between the two stations. The vendor must be the original equipment manufacturer or an authorized dealer with current manufacturer authorization documentation and must demonstrate full compatibility with the City's existing WestNet infrastructure. The completed installations must operate as extensions of the City's existing system and remain consistent with current equipment configurations, operational functions, and alerting processes.
The City's sole-source rationale centers on WestNet being the only practical source capable of expanding the integrated life-safety platform without requiring replacement of functioning station equipment, the Computer-Aided Dispatch interface, ChatComm integration, or the Radio Interface Controller—which is shared with the City of Johns Creek under a 2025 Intergovernmental Agreement. WestNet was selected based on the City's 2021 platform evaluation, in which WestNet submitted the lowest responsive proposal meeting operational and technical requirements.
The estimated sole-source cost is $151,569.85 for Fire Station 1 and $152,259.85 for Fire Station 4, for a combined total of $303,829.70. Performance occurs at Fire Stations 1 and 4 in Sandy Springs, Cobb County, Georgia.
