About this opportunity

The State of Georgia is seeking to procure fire shelters, which are critical personal protective devices designed for wildland firefighters in emergency situations. These shelters are specifically intended as a last-resort protective measure to reflect radiant heat and provide a survivable airspace when firefighters become entrapped by fire. The procurement requires two distinct sizes: regular and large, with shipping and handling costs to be included in the pricing. The solicitation will be conducted entirely through electronic bid responses via the Team Georgia Marketplace (TGM) platform. Potential vendors must register on the TGM Bidder & Supplier Portal before submitting a bid, with registration options differentiated between new bidders and existing suppliers who have previously worked with the state. The bid submission deadline is September 30, 2025, with the opportunity initially posted on September 10, 2025. Technical support for the bidding process is available through the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) Customer Service Help Desk, offering phone support at 404-657-6000 and email assistance at ProcurementHelp@doas.ga.gov.

The solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises based on the provided information. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed in the documentation. The procurement appears open to qualified vendors capable of supplying fire shelters that meet the specified requirements. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed, interested suppliers must complete the registration process, which involves providing comprehensive company information and selecting the appropriate vendor classification (bidder or supplier). Potential vendors should carefully review all documentation through the TGM platform and ensure they meet the technical and logistical requirements for bidding. The procurement process emphasizes electronic submission and requires thorough preparation of bid documentation through the state's designated procurement portal.
