Fiber Optic Cables

The District of Columbia is seeking proposals for a Fiber Optic Cables procurement, with a contract opportunity posted on May 20, 2019, and an expedited response deadline of May 23, 2019. This procurement appears to be focused on acquiring fiber optic cable infrastructure, though specific technical details are limited in the provided documentation. The brevity of available information suggests this may be a time-sensitive technology infrastructure project requiring rapid vendor selection and deployment. The contract opportunity is specifically associated with State Local Contract Opportunity ID 66c8583c829eb5d869070ca2 and is directly tied to the District of Columbia's technological enhancement initiatives. Potential vendors would need to demonstrate expertise in fiber optic cable installation, network infrastructure design, and rapid implementation capabilities.

While the provided documentation does not explicitly outline set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, standard District of Columbia procurement practices typically encourage participation from local and disadvantaged business enterprises. The compressed timeline between posting and response deadline (May 20-23, 2019) indicates an urgent procurement need, which might suggest pre-existing relationships or specific vendor qualifications. No incumbent vendors or specific budget ranges are disclosed in the available information. The procurement appears to be part of a broader technological infrastructure upgrade for the District of Columbia, potentially involving network expansion, telecommunications enhancement, or critical infrastructure modernization. Interested vendors would need to carefully review any supplemental procurement documentation and be prepared to respond quickly given the narrow window between posting and submission dates.
